Biographical Summary:

 

Alexander Stedman was commissioned on the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in 1761 and as an associate on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1764.He also served from 1755 to 1778 as a trustee of the Academy and College of Philadelphia (now the University of Pennsylvania).
