1883 University Team

 

In this year, a new scoring system was instituted. It assigned points along the formula that a touchdown counted for two points, and a safety counted for one point. This team was had no coach; students alone were responsible for the existence of the team and for all fundraising, scheduling, training and strategies on the field.
